Two home games for Bozeman High this season have led to two late nights.
The first, in the season opener Aug. 29 against Missoula Hellgate, was delayed for close to 90 minutes because of lightning and rain, but the Hawks came away with a 46-20 victory. On Friday evening, the delay was all Bozeman’s own doing. Games tend to take a while when the teams combine for 17 touchdowns.
The Hawks accounted for 10 of those, winning the shootout at Van Winkle Stadium against Great Falls High by the basketball score of 70-50.
“Crazy game,” Hawks head coach Levi Wesche said. “Never seen anything like it in all my years.”
The result marks Bozeman’s highest offensive output since scoring 69 points in 2018 against Billings Skyview. The 70 points are the most Bozeman (3-1, 2-0 Eastern AA) has scored sin
