This is truly heartbreaking. Scott Littlefield, a longtime MLB scout and a familiar face in the Texas Rangers organization, died on Friday while on the road with the team. He was only 59.
Littlefield spent more than three decades in the scouting world and dedicated the last 15 years to the Rangers. The Dallas Morning News confirmed that he passed away in a Houston hotel during the club’s current trip. His passing comes as the baseball community is still coping with Brett Gardner’s son’s death, and recently, a new report has also come up regarding it.
Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young described the loss as devastating. He said, “Scott was one of the most respected scouts in Major League Baseball who had an incredible impact on this organization. His voice was influentia
