CINCINNATI (WXIX) -A dog is dead, two people are displaced, and another dog was rescued after a fire occurred in Colerain Township Saturday morning, according to Helen Tracey-Noren, a spokesperson with the Colerain Township Fire Department.
Tracey-Noren says that firefighters were called to the 7100 block of Swirlwood Lane around 2 a.m.
When they arrived, crews could hear smoke alarms going off and could see flames coming from the roof of the home.
Tracey-Noren says the people living there were evacuated, including one of their dogs.
Captain Craig Niehaus says that the family had two dogs, and one of them died in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Capt. Niehaus says that it is believed the fire started in the back porch.
The estimated damage is at least $1
