INGLEWOOD – The Inglewood City Attorney’s office continues to shroud disclosure of legal payments to outside law firms under the cloak of “attorney-client privilege”.

The City increased its outside legal expenditures by nearly $1 million during the September 16 city council meeting. According to the modified FY 2024-2025 budget, legal fees have tripled over the FY 2023-2024 budget.

In FY 2023-2024, outside legal fees totaled $1,062,937, and for FY 2024-2025, the City has spent $2,975,837. 1

During the September 16 city council meeting, the City Council approved increasing the total compensation of two law firms by a combined $800,000 and another law firm is set to receive an undisclosed increase on September 23.
