Dare grand jury indicts recently arrested suspects in Avalon Pier shooting

First Judicial District DA Jeff Cruden has confirmed that a Dare County grand jury, meeting on Sept. 15, has indicted the two individuals arrested last week in connection with the July 31 fatal shooting at Avalon Pier.
Kayden Michael Lindsey, 17, of Kitty Hawk, was charged with First Degree Murder, and Zachary Kane Rose, 17, of Grandy, was charged with Felony Aid and Abet First Degree Murder. They were arrested on Sept. 9 in connection with the shooting that killed 19-year-old Zane Hughes of Colington and wounded a 15-year-old bystander visiting from Pennsylvania.
