Demon Slayer has been the talk of the anime community for the last number of months thanks to the unprecedented success of its first Infinity Castle movie . The smash-hit Shōnen Jump adaptation has ruled the anime world since its premiere in 2019, and the ultra-hyped film is the first in a trilogy set to bring the series to a close.

Since its debut in Japanese theaters back in July, Infinity Castle Part 1 has gone on to break the franchise's own records while sitting atop Japan's box office, but it seems its reign has finally come to an end. Chainsaw Man—The Movie: Reze Arc premiered on September 19th and dethroned Demon Slayer , stealing its number one spot.
