MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Playing for the first time since 1998, the Memphis Tigers stunned the Arkansas Razorbacks by forcing a fumble in the waning moments, beating the Hogs 32-31.
After a slow start that saw the Tigers fall behind 28-10, Memphis outscored Arkansas 22-3 the rest of the game, beating an SEC team at home for a fourth straight time.
Sutton Smith’s 64-yard touchdown gave the Tigers that one point lead when Chris Bracy punched the ball away from Mike Washington Jr. at the Memphis seven yard line and with the Razorbacks in position to kick the game winning field goal.
Instead, the Tigers improve to 4-0 and become a real player for a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
