The Notre Dame Fighting Irish got off to a rough start in 2025, suffering loses in their first two games of the college football season.

Head coach Marcus Freeman's team opened up the year with a 27-24 loss to the No. 5-ranked Miami Hurricanes. Two weeks later, the team failed to bounce back in a thrilling 41-40 loss to the No. 16 Texas A&M Aggies.

Losing their first two games of the season by a combined four points against two top-15 opponents, Notre Dame may be the best 0-2 team in the nation.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit certainly seems to think so.

During Saturday's episode of "College GameDay," Herbstreit expressed his confidence in the Fighting Irish moving forward through the 2025 college football season.
