Two elk hunters who went missing in the Colorado wilderness were found dead after a six-day search, authorities said.

The two men, both 25, went missing Sept. 12 while hunting in an area that stretches from the Continental Divide on the west to the Rio Grande River on the east and down to the border of New Mexico, The Colorado Sun reports. It's known for having extremely rugged terrain.

Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko, both 25, were last in contact with loved ones on Thursday, Sept. 11. According to a GoFundMe page, severe storms moved through the area Thursday evening, "and we suspect the two young men were caught off-guard by the weather."
