There are four candidates vying for three seats on the Topsail Beach Board of Commissioners.

Candidates include incumbents Tim Zizack, John Best, and Nancy Thomason, and challenger Alex Arab.

This beach town in Pender County is located on the southern end of Topsail Island, and, according to the town's website, it has a population of about 500 year-round residents.

The town has a council-manager form of government, with one mayor and a board of five commissioners with one acting as the mayor pro tempore. Commissioners serve four-year terms. This race is nonpartisan. According to Rochelle Jagst, town clerk for Topsail Beach, the mayor and commissioners all receive a $6,000 annual stipend, which is paid in quarterly installments of $1,500.
