BENTON, Ill. (KFVS) - After allowing just seven points in their first three games, the Benton Rangers found themselves down by that much in less than 60 seconds.

They didn’t allow a single point after that.

Benton overcame an early Du Quoin score, to defeat the Indians in the Heartland Football Friday Game of the Night, 17-7.

Before Friday’s match, moods at Tabor Field were high. The community honored members of the military, veterans, and first responders in a pregame Salute to Service. Rangers players wore special jerseys with the stars and stripes of the U.S. flag on their shoulders.

Just as things settled down, the opening kickoff made things just as energetic, this time though for just Du Quoin. The Indians kicked off to start the game, but a low, driven ball bounced off the groun
