One thing is already clear: The Carney who campaigned across the country promising L/liberal use of his elbows to defend Canada from Donald Trump is something more of a teddy bear. This week in the House of Commons, Carney boasted of his “good relations” with the U.S. president and pronounced his avoidance of the very worst of Trump’s tariff fury a “success.” That Canada and its economy are still getting clobbered by said tariffs was left unsaid.
