The Auburn defense appeared to bust a coverage Saturday in the second quarter when Oklahoma’s John Mateer found a wide open Isaiah Sategna for a 24-yard touchdown strike with 10:45 left in the first half to give the Sooners a 10-3 lead.

It was the second controversial play of the first half.

But was it legal?

Tom Green of 247Sports posted Bob Stoops’ comment on the Oklahoma broadcast.

“This was a deceptive play the Sooners worked on in practice all week,” Stoops said, per the post . “Paid off. Ben Arbuckle and John Mateer seemed to look like they knew they got away with something there against Auburn.”
