UNC quarterback Gio Lopez exited with an injury in the third quarter of the Tar Heels' game at UCF in Week 4 of the 2025 college football season.

Lopez appeared to injure his leg after running for a first down on a fourth-and-1 play with just over 6 minutes left in the third quarter. The South Alabama transfer completed 11 of 14 passes for 87 yards before exiting the game, but two interceptions in the first half contributed to UNC's 27-3 deficit in the second half.
