A Worcester man was convicted Thursday of kidnapping a 7-year-old girl in 2017 and throwing her off a bridge while being acquitted of two rape charges, records show.

Joshua Hubert, 43, was taken into custody after the Worcester Superior Court jury returned its verdict after deliberating since Tuesday .

Hubert was convicted of two counts of attempted murder, strangulation or suffocation, and kidnapping a child, records show. A sentencing date has not been set.

He was acquitted of aggravated rape of a child while bound and aggravated rape of a child with a five-year age difference, according to court records.
