EUGENE — It wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but there is still a long way to go for Oregon State football.

From a stagnant second half on offense to special teams miscues and various mental lapses, the Beavers (0-4) fell apart as a 41-7 loss to No. 6 Oregon progressed.

Opening statement:

For the first half, we were doing what we wanted to do as far as compete, playing hard, and it was good. It looked how we wanted it to look. Kind of let go of the rope in the second half. Got back to making the same mistakes that put us in this position. Cut guys loose on the back end, special teams blunders. ... It was a tale of two halves. This is how good we are capable of being in that first half.
