CASTINE -- The Maine Maritime women's soccer team is off to a hot start this season under new direction.

The Mariners have started the season 5-0, a mark that the program has not matched since 2003, more than 20 years ago.

Head coach Levi Evans was hired as the new mariners coach in August, and is the programs third coach in four years.

Leaders on this squad say that despite the coaching carousel they have faced, the team remains strong and connected on and off the field.

"A lot of us were very close for a long time," said senior Delaney Ennis. "Everyone on campus would call us a cult because we were that close. So I think just sticking together and getting through it, cause its never an easy thing to get through with multiple coaches through that many years. So just sticking togeth
