BALTIMORE -- Giancarlo Stanton connected for his 450th career home run on Saturday evening at Camden Yards, launching a three-run shot in the first inning off Orioles right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano.

Stanton’s opposite-field blast on an 84 mph Sugano sweeper cleared the large scoreboard in right field and moved the 35-year-old past Vladimir Guerrero and Jeff Bagwell (449) for sole possession of 41st place on the all-time home run list. Carl Yastrzemski is next, with 452.

It was Stanton’s 21st home run of the season, coming in a building where he has hit well historically.

Entering Saturday, Stanton owned a career .304/.385/.478 slash line (49-for-161) with seven home runs and 22 RBIs in 41 games at Camden Yards.
