An investigation is underway after a body was found near an on-ramp to the 101 Freeway in Encino Saturday.

California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a body discovered near the eastbound 101 on-ramp near White Oak Avenue shortly before 7 a.m.

The person officers found was only described as an adult male. Authorities did not provide details on the nature of his injuries.

Roads in the area were closed as authorities investigated the scene. No further information, including the man’s name or the circumstances surrounding his death, was released.

Detectives from CHP’s West Valley office will be handling the investigation.
