SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - After missing out on multiple world athletics championships due to a 4 year ban, Shelby Houlihan made her return to the event.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, Shelby Houlihan, a former Sioux City East High School standout, came in 4th place at the World Athletics Championships, which took place in Tokyo, Japan.
During her run, Houlihan finished with a time just over 3 seconds off of first and exactly 2 seconds away from a medal.
In January, she told KTIV’s Jayson Moeller that she had her sights set on competing in Los Angeles.
