A 16-year-old in Griswold has been arrested after bringing a firearm to a Griswold High School football game on Friday night, the Superintendent of Schools, Sean McKenna, said.

Troopers from Troop E were dispatched to Griswold to assist in clearing out a crowd from a sports game when they were then notified of a threatening incident implying the use of a firearm, Connecticut State Police said.

According to McKenna, he said that the 16-year-old "is not a student of Griswold Public Schools."

Authorities said that the teenager was quickly found and placed under arrest.

At this time, there is no threat to the public, McKenna said.
