Lewis Ward has won many big games for the Ottawa Redblacks, but on Saturday afternoon he played an instrumental role in the loss of one.
“It’s a bad day to have a bad day,” the veteran kicker said after a 26-18 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers put the Redblacks in the unenviable position of having to win all of their remaining four games — and then pray — to make the playoffs.

Ward was wide on two of three field-goal attempts, from 43 and 47 yards out, to help Trey Vaval set a Canadian Football League record with 199 return yards off missed three-pointers.
