GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Furry friends and their families packed into Riverside Park in Grand Rapids on Saturday morning for Paws With A Cause's (PAWS) signature fundraising event.

Organizers estimated there were more than 1,000 attendees at the fifth annual "Retriever Fever," which featured music, activities, local vendors, other nonprofits and food trucks.

There were also Labrador retriever and golden retriever races for the chance to win a prize and take part in a fundraising rivalry.

"Every step, every dollar, and every tail-wag makes a difference," PAWS said.

This year, the event had its first-ever PAWS in the Park 5k and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk for owners and dogs alike.
