A stellar play from right fielder Victor Robles on Saturday delivered a massive boost to the Mariners’ chances of winning the American League West.

Robles laid out for a diving catch in the bottom of the ninth of Saturday’s game at Daikin Park, making the snag and flipping the ball to second for a double play to seal a 6-4 win over the Astros in a crucial game.

With the win, the Mariners doubled their AL West lead to two games with just seven left to play. They also secured a key head-to-head tiebreaker over Houston by clinching a win in the season series.
