SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley recently hosted a special event where local police officers took children on a back-to-school shopping spree.

The Spokane Salvation Army partnered with local law enforcement and Old Navy to bring the “Shop with a Cop” program to the area for the first time.

The shopping event took place at the Old Navy located on East Indiana Avenue. The company that owns the store provided each child with a shopping credit to purchase essential school items.

For the law enforcement officers involved, the event was about more than just shopping. It was an opportunity to engage positively with children in the community.
