Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) crews are set to begin a number of construction work across the state this week, as state officials continue projects before winter weather sets in.

Upcoming MDOT construction projects
The following construction projects are set to start this week, according to MDOT, with travel advisories in effect:
MDOT is investing about $1.3 million to improve five bridges at the Interstate 196/U.S. 131 interchange in Grand Rapids. Work starts Monday, Sept. 22, and will end in October. Lane closures will be in effect on eastbound and westbound I-196 at U.S. 131. The westbound I-196 ramp to southbound U.S. 131 will be closed.
