SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - There were a few stray showers in northern Siouxland on Saturday, but most of us stayed dry. A chance for rain and thunderstorms stays in the forecast today.

A few showers are possible this morning and early in the afternoon. A brief break of rain chances will come this afternoon as clouds clear. Temperatures will peak near 80°.

Late afternoon and early evening, a line of thunderstorms is expected to develop to our north, near I-90. Those storms will drift south into northern Siouxland during the early overnight hours. A few of those storms could become strong or severe. A Level 1/5 Marginal Risk of severe weather encompasses all of Siouxland. Small hail and 50mph wind gusts are the primary threats.
