SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)--Syracuse University hosted the largest in-person collegiate esports regular season match ever, featuring teams from Syracuse, Michigan State, Boise State, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The day drew high energy from gamers and spectators alike. It marked a significant milestone in college esports, as teams from the Power Esports Conference gathered for an in-person Rocket League match on campus.

"We are treating this as a real special occasion because nobody's ever done what we're doing today," Joey Gawrysiak, SU's executive director of esports, said, "having multiple teams from the Power Esports Conference flying in to do an in-person regular-season match for Rocket League on a college campus."
