PITTSBURGH —

There is a heavy police presence on Pittsburgh's Central North Side after public safety officials say a man barricaded himself in a home there early Sunday morning.

Pittsburgh Public Safety officials say Pittsburgh police are assisting Cranberry police and Pennsylvania State Police.

The man barricaded himself inside the home on Parkhurst Street for hours Sunday morning.

The standoff ended around 8 am when the man was taken into custody. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

His name has not been released.

No injuries are being reported.
