LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Get ready for a wet week ahead Kentucky, as we track rounds of rain to start off the fall season.
Skies start calm, as clouds build back in throughout the morning. Temps begin in the upper 50s and low 60s - but will peak eventually in the mid 80s in your afternoon.
Rain chances increase in the afternoon as scattered storms push into parts of central Kentucky. There is a low-end severe threat with these scattered storm chances- with heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts. Not everyone has a rain chance today, but the storms will certainly pack a punch if you get caught in one.
We have daily rain chances in our forecast, with another severe chance for the storms headed our way Monday night. Temps will return to highs in the 70s by the end of the week.
