A shooting at a New Hampshire country club during a wedding on Saturday left one person dead and two others injured. The incident occurred at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, where 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare was killed. Authorities have arrested 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau, who has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting DeCesare.

New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke confirmed the details in a statement. They indicated that additional charges may be filed related to the other victims. Nadeau is expected to be arraigned at the Ninth Circuit Court in Nashua on Monday.

Initially, authorities believed there might have been two shooters, but they later clarified that only Nadeau was involved. Police have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Investigators are still working to determine a motive for the shooting, according to New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley.

Details about the conditions of the two wounded victims have not been released. Eyewitness Tom Bartelson, who was attending his nephew's wedding, described a scene of chaos. He reported hearing the shooter say, "the children are safe" and "free Palestine," suggesting he may have been targeting someone specific. "Getting together for a dance for the bride and groom and then all chaos went off," Bartelson recounted. "We heard about six shots and everybody ducked for cover."

Witnesses reported panic as guests tried to find safety. Bartelson noted, "We were trying to keep family members safe. Keep everybody down and try to find safe spots."

Evie O’Rourke, DeCesare's mother, expressed her distress after losing sight of her son during the shooting. "He went down. My daughter-in-law and granddaughter escaped... They saw my son go down and they saw blood," she said.

Another witness, Emily Ernst, described the shooter as wearing all black and a mask. "He had a mask on. We just saw him raise the gun and then we ran," Ernst said. "I ran through the kitchen for my life."

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, as shown in aerial footage. Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess expressed confidence in law enforcement's ability to resolve the situation. He remarked, "I think the message is for every community out there is that no matter how unlikely it seems, it can happen where you live."

U.S. Representative Maggie Goodlander stated she was monitoring the situation and extended her thoughts to the victims and their families. Nashua is located approximately 45 miles northwest of Boston, just across the Massachusetts border.
