The UK has decided to formally recognise Palestine as a state, following Israel's failure to meet conditions set by the Government, Keir Starmer has revealed.

This summer, the Prime Minister indicated that the UK was ready to acknowledge Palestinian statehood in September if Israel did not meet specific requirements.

These included an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, a commitment to long-term sustainable peace, and rejuvenating the two-state solution prospect.
