HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- An Evansville officer was injured in a shooting on September 21.

According to police, officers located a stolen vehicle at Rally’s on Virginia Street just before 1:30 a.m. Police say two suspects immediately fled as the officers approached the vehicle.

Police say one of the suspects pulled a firearm and shot at officers while feeing, hitting one officer with gunfire. Police say officers returned fire and struck the suspect.

The officer and suspect were taken to local hospitals for medical treatment. The second suspect, a juvenile, fled the scene, in which was later located and taken into custody.
