CHICAGO — A CTA bus with a driver but no passengers crashed into a building late Saturday night after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Jefferson Park on the city's Northwest Side, according to Chicago police.

Police say the bus was going north on North Central Avenue when it was hit on the front driver's side around 10:45 p.m. by a black sedan that was going east on West Catalpa Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign.

The impact caused the bus to lose control and hit a parked car and a fence before crashing into the side of a residential building in the 5500 block of N. Central Ave, according to police. Meanwhile, police say the black sedan fled the scene before officers arrived.
