CLEVELAND — Cardinal Mooney High School says one of its students is recovering after being shot following a football game at Stambaugh Stadium on the campus of Youngstown State University.
In a Facebook post from the school, the Youngstown Catholic school said that the student was injured and taken straight to the hospital, where they are recovering in stable condition.
"The student's family thanks you for your continued prayers for a full and speedy recovery," the school said.
The shooting took place as fans were exiting Stambaugh Stadium after Cardinal Mooney's home game against Chardon, the visiting district said in a Facebook post . Chardon High School Principal Adam Tomco reported that all Chardon players, cheerleaders, band members, coaches and staff were safe.
