Cape May has undertaken a series of major construction projects this year totaling more than $25 million.

The city’s projects are aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure, recreational facilities and flood protection systems.

Current projects include the $1.4 million rehabilitation of Harborview Park , scheduled in winter 2025 construction after receiving county grant approval and necessary historic preservation permits, according to the list of construction projects on the city’s website .

At Lafayette Street Park , several phases are already underway or have been completed.

The $240,000 playground safety surfacing is finished, while the Cape May Nature Trails, awarded to Massett Building Co. for $1.87 million, are now open to the public.
