KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Kansas City Current has won the National Women’s Soccer League Shield, the trophy given annually to the team that tops the league’s regular season standings, after defeating the Seattle Reign 2-0 on Saturday night.

The Current lifted the trophy in front of their home fans at a sold-out CPKC Stadium with five games of the NWSL regular season remaining, becoming the fastest team to ever claim the NWSL Shield.
