COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A’ja Wilson has been named this season’s MVP, the WNBA announced on Sunday morning.

The University of South Carolina alumna is now in a class of her own, becoming the first player in league history to win the honor on four occasions.

Wilson was crowned the WNBA’s top player last season and also won the award in 2020 and 2022.

Wilson led the league in scoring this season, averaging 23.4 points per game. She also finished first in the WNBA for blocked shots, registering 2.3 ‘swats’ per game.

Wilson was chosen by a panel of 72 sportswriters and broadcasters, earning 51 overall first place votes. She surpassed four other finalists to capture the league’s top prize.
