Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed the recognition of an independent Palestinian state as an “absurd reward for terror”.
Britain, Canada and Australia have all joined nearly a hundred and fifty countries who already recognise Palestine in the hope of putting a two-state solution back on the agenda, despite the Israeli government’s sworn opposition to it.
France and Belgium are expected to do the same tomorrow at the United Nations where Netanyahu says he will fight against the recognition of a Palestine that would endanger Israel’s existence.
