Iowa State football checks in at 13th in the new US LBM Coaches Poll, released Sunday, Sept. 21. The Cyclones were previously ranked 13th as well.

Before going on a bye week, the Cyclones improved to 4-0 on the season by escaping with a 24-16 road win over Arkansas State on Sept. 13.

Quarterback Rocco Becht threw for 265 yards and recorded two total touchdowns (one passing and one rushing) in the victory. Running back Carson Hansen surpassed the century mark on the ground, rushing for 116 yards. Meanwhile, Abu Sama added 69 rushing yards and punched in a touchdown.

The Cyclones then got a break from game action with a bye week.

But now, they are approaching a return to Big 12 competition. The Cyclones will be back at Jack Trice Stadium to host Arizona on Sept. 27. It will be a clash
