WASHINGTON, D.C. - California Senator Alex Padilla and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, along with North Carolina Congresswoman Deborah Ross and Iowa Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks, have reintroduced a bipartisan bill to aid Documented Dreamers.
The legislation aims to provide a pathway to citizenship for long-term residents brought legally to the United States as dependents on their parents' work visas.
The America’s CHILDREN Act seeks to protect over 250,000 Documented Dreamers from deportation and other challenges due to the outdated immigration system. The U.S. visa system allows certain dependent children of visa holders to maintain legal status until they turn 21, but many face the risk of 'aging out' due to green card backlogs.
