After opening Big 12 Conference play with a road win, the Texas Tech football team can be considered one of the best teams in the country — at least according to the national rankings.

Texas Tech pulled away late to secure a 34-10 win at Utah on Saturday. Less than 24 hours later, the Red Raiders earned their highest ranking in the US LBM Coaches Poll in 12 years, coming in at 14th.
