ST. LOUIS – As Brandon Woodruff sat down on the bench in the visitor’s dugout at Busch Stadium, he said what was on everyone’s mind.

“Feels like déjà vu, doesn’t it?”

Woodruff was placed on the injured list Sept. 21 with a right lat strain, an injury that will likely bring his season to an end with one week to go before the playoffs. Woodruff will get a second opinion on the injury while also seeking a consultation from Dr. Keith Meister, who performed Woodruff's anterior capsule surgery in late 2023.

“Incredibly crappy timing,” Woodruff said. “I said it feels like déjà vu with this.”
