BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) --- More than 8,000 meals prepared for the BITE Experience @ LPGA food festival are being redirected to the local community after the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G was canceled due to heavy rain.

Chef David Olson and Live Fire Republic, who had prepared the meals for festival attendees, is providing them to event staff, volunteers, first responders, local churches and food banks, he said in an Instagram post.

Meals are currently being given out starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Clorox and Kingsford sales office at 2200 SE 28th Street, Bentonville, Ark., 72712. All meals are free.
