CINCINNATI — Rainy weather around Great American Ball Park has delayed the start of the Chicago Cubs series finale Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds.
First pitch is now scheduled for 1:50 p.m. Central time, 70 minutes after the game was scheduled to start.
The Cubs are looking to avoid a four-game sweep by a Reds team making a push for the third National League wild-card spot. The Cubs haven’t lost more than three consecutive games this season. Their last losing streak of at least four games occurred in June 2024.
Although the Cubs have clinched a playoff spot, they still need to lock down the top wild-card position to ensure they would host their wild-card series next week at Wrigley Field.
