GILLETT, Wis. (WBAY) - A 24-year-old man died after a head-on crash in the Town of Gillett on Saturday. A 2-year-old child was in the car with him and was hospitalized from the crash.

Oconto County Sheriff said in a statement that the county’s dispatch center got a call just before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday of a two-vehicle crash involving a passenger car and a pickup truck towing a trailer, on STH 22 near the intersection of Old 22 Road/CTH P, in the Town of Gillett.

Deputies and other first responders who arrived to the scene saw a gray Volkswagon SUV in the west ditch that had extensive damage and a Chevrolet pickup truck in the southbound lane, also with extensive damage.
