LOUISVILLE, Ky. — VOCAL-KY and its supporters came together for community and healing on Saturday after what they describe as a tough month.

In the last two weeks, the organization said they have experienced five deaths of people they consider family. These people were impacted by homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, and poverty.

Now, these people are seen in a collection of pictures among others who have passed displayed in a slideshow and all around the inside of the organization's office.

Jennifer Twyman, the Community Outreach and Program Manager for VOCAL-KY, said they are now celebrating and remembering the lives lost.

"It just brings the bigger picture of how many people we lose that are forgotten and not celebrated in the life that they did have," Twyman said.
