MACON, Ga. — Dozens of bright yellow ducks hit the water on Saturday, each sponsored by supporters hoping to snag the $2,500 grand prize for the fastest duck.

Participants raced their rubber ducks in the 2025 Great Ocmulgee River Duck Race.

Sponsorships for the event started at $10 per duck, but the real winners were the kids.

All proceeds supported the "Triple Play" program, which is dedicated to health, education, and wellness for kids in clubs around Central Georgia.

Elizabeth Lengel was among the many to sponsor a duck, and she says this splashy event is about more than just fun.

"I just think the Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia is a great cause to donate to, to participate with," she said. "I mean, helping kids in town, what's better than that?"
