JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) -- A motorcyclist was arrested after speeding, running red lights, and hitting a Jacksonville Police Department squad car on Saturday.

Officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded near the intersection of W. Morton Avenue and S. Fayette Street around 6:30 p.m.

The police department said a motorcyclist was driving recklessly at high rates of speed, disobeying traffic signals, and riding on one wheel. Police also said the motorcyclist, identified as Blake K. Barnett, hit a stopped squad car.

At the time of the accident, Barnett was estimated to be driving between 10-20 miles per hour. Both Barnett and the driver of the squad car were uninjured, the police department said.
