EUGENE - Punters are rarely credited for delivering what could be the turning point in a game, but that was the case during No. 6 Oregon’s 41-7 win over Oregon State Saturday at Autzen Stadium.

Oregon punter James Ferguson-Reynolds’ 21-yard run on a fake punt in the third quarter led to a touchdown several plays later, putting the Ducks up 28-7 and essentially ending what little hope OSU had to pull out a victory.

“It was awesome,” Ferguson-Reynolds said. “It was fun.”

The play was certainly entertaining.

The Ducks were set to punt from their own 34-yard line when Ferguson-Reynolds saw an opening to the right he couldn’t resist.

“I went out there for a normal punt, grabbed the ball and saw a big gap and thought, ‘Why not take it?’” he said.
